My mom sat me down in front of her old Singer when I was about 8-years-old. Together we made skirts, then simple dresses, later pin-tucked blouses, quilts and more. As an engagement present, she gave me my own sewing machine. It’s been a love/hate relationship, one in which I have left my machine sitting in the back of a dark closet, dusty, only to be pulled out for a quick repair or hem. But since becoming a mother, my sewing machine has been a regular fixture on our dining room table. So why not share some of those creations!
